Ultrasound

Ultrasound (also known as a sonogram) produces images by generating high-frequency sound waves. A transducer placed on your skin, with warm gel, sends and receives sound waves into the body which produces grayscale echoes. These echoes produce images of the internal structure’s shape and size. The process is completely free of radiation or harmful side effects. Exam times range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes based on the organs to be evaluated.

Once you have an order from your doctor, please call Imaging Healthcare Specialists at (858) 658-6500 to schedule your ultrasound at one of our 10 San Deigo area locations.
