High-Resolution Lung CT (HRCT)

An HRCT is designed to provide exceptionally detailed images of the lungs with as low a radiation dose as possible. The detailed “thin slice” images are needed to properly evaluate and monitor diffuse interstitial lung disease, such as:

  • Pulmonary fibrosis
  • Cystic lung disease
  • Small airways disease
  • Pulmonary micronodules
  • Bronchiectasis

The high-resolution Lung CT can also be used to evaluate lung damage resulting from respiratory illness, such as COVID-19 (also known as post-COVID fibrosis) or other respiratory illnesses resulting from MERS and other coronavirus infections.

To schedule an HRCT scan with Imaging Healthcare Specialists, please call us at (858) 658-6500 Monday through Friday. We service physicians and patients in the greater San Diego area including Vista, Oceanside, Encinitas, Poway, La Jolla, Chula Vista and San Diego.
