Job Description

The sonographer participates directly in patient care and is responsible for the care and comfort of the patient during any diagnostic sonogram.  Operates ultrasound equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes and for providing accurate documentation of diagnostic images for the radiologist to interpret.

 

Responsibilities

Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
• Completion of formal Ultrasound training/educational program
• 2 years of Ultrasound experience preferred
• Required skills= Breast imaging, Obstetric fetal anatomy imaging, as well as experience performing a wide variety of general diagnostic exams
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of patient focused care delivery

Required Certification/Registration:
• RDMS
• BLS

Shift/ Location:
• Part Time position
• Applicants must be willing to work varied hours- days, evenings, and weekends.
• Applicants must be willing to float to various IHS locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an ARDMS accredited school or equivalent training program.
  • 1 year experience as a Sonographer
  • CPR certified
  • ARDMS registration in the following specialties
    • Abdominal (required)
    • OB/GYN (required)
    • RVT
