Job Description

Are you an accomplished HL7 Interface Analyst that wants to become part of a team whose commitment is to improve healthcare for everyone.  IHS is currently searching for a dynamic and energetic HL7 specialist to join our team.  This position is a key member of the IT team and will report to the Director of Enterprise Technology.

Working at IHS requires that you have the following:

Voice of the Customer: you must have an unrelenting focus on providing customer value.

Value-Creation: you must practice continuous learning and everyday improvement.

Results: how results are achieved should matter to you as much as getting the result and you should respect people most of all.

Your job experience should include most of the following:

LEAN: you don’t need to be a Lean expert but you should be well on your Lean journey.

HL7 Analyst/Developer Experience: enough been-there-done-that experience to dive into HL7 interface implementation projects but also looking forward to expanding expertise and seeking solutions in the various areas of RIS and PACS.

Technologies/SkillsExperience with HL7 interface engines (such as, but not limited to Mirth, Corepoint, etc), firm understanding of HL7 messaging and dataflow as it relates to sending clinical orders, results, and billing messages, as well as a working knowledge of EMRs, RIS, PACS, and other Healthcare IT solutions relevant to managing patient/physician records, scheduling, study data, and clinical reports.

Key Traits:  Active engagement – you have to drive interface projects and continuously pursue effective solutions to current systems and workflows. Problem Solving – a knack for collecting the right data, thorough analysis, and ability to test and implement the right solution.

  • Completely manage HL7 interface implementations (i.e. Orders and Results) – taking ownership of the task management and technical responsibilities, and proactively engage with internal functional teams, software vendors, and healthcare partners to drive projects to completion.
  • Support existing interfaces, identify areas of improvement, and routinely review and manage exceptions.
  • Manage the integrity of the referring physician data across multiple systems.
  • Actively participate in other systems and applications projects across the areas of RIS/PACS.
