John O. Johnson, MD

John O. Johnson, MD, brings an expertise in Body Imaging, Cardiovascular Imaging, Mammography and Breast Interventions, Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.

He attended the University of Florida, earning an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree in Cardiovascular Physiology, as well as his M.D. with Junior AOA honors in 1985. Dr. Johnson completed his internship at Mercy Hospital and his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he also served as Chief Resident.

In 1990, he joined Imaging Healthcare Specialists, and has played a vital role ever since. He has held several leadership positions including Chief of Radiology at Scripps Mercy Hospital and is currently the Chief of CT Imaging at Imaging Healthcare Specialists and Scripps Mercy Hospital. He also served as co-author and editor of Imaging Guidelines for Milliman and Robertson, an international utilization management firm. Dr. Johnson is also a primary architect for the Low Radiation Dose Initiative at Imaging Healthcare Specialists.
