Summary: The Benefits and Leave Analyst is responsible for identifying employee benefit levels that meet IHS core values by researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering benefit plans and programs that control costs and support solutions that meet employee needs.

This will be achieved by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as primary contact for benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators, ensuring transfer of data for services, premiums and plan administration is accurate.
  • Responsible for managing health and welfare benefit program administration, analysis, and support, by holding benefits orientation, open enrollment cycle, benefits billing, compliance support, and reporting requests;
  • Proactively initiates benefits review cycle and obtains competitive quotes from brokers that can honor IHS’ employee value base; Holds broker partners accountable to service level agreements to ensure IHS gains optimum value from agreement.
  • Administer IHS 401(k) plan by supporting annual census, enrollments, coordinating deductions, providing documentation, and performing audits; Holds 401(k) vendor accountable to service level agreements and ensure the plan is administered correctly
  • Manages IHS Wellness Program by ensuring that education materials remain fresh and employee participation is optimized; Works with vendor partner to optimize their contribution and ultimately the wellbeing of entire IHS team.
  • Field requests for leave of absence from employees and collaborate with Employer’s Guardian to compliantly administer leaves, in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements; Act as liaison and coordinate communication between employee and Employer’s Guardian
  • Collaborate with Employer’s Guardian to administer and support worker’s compensation program; act as in-house liaison for managing employee injuries and accommodations
  • Performs quarterly audits to ensure IHS standards are being maintained
  • Responsible for attaining competitive worker’s compensation rates; Initiate renewal cycle proactively and holds broker accountable by obtaining competitive quotes as needed
  • Collaborate with Employer’s guardian to effective administer IHS’ compensation program administration, analysis, and support including obtaining salary survey feedback, annual compensation review process, and basic reporting
  • Collaborate with Employer’s Guardian to administer annual review cycle and labor budget management to coordinate with performance increases; facilitates collection of performance rating adjustments to performance metrics and approvals for annual wage increases;
  • Act as secondary backup for Payroll Administrator when needed, and timely process payroll in compliance with regulatory requirements; submits payroll information to appropriate parties, and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • May occasionally field questions regarding company policies and procedures, leave of absence entitlement, employee benefits, etc.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Must possess the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Business Acumen: Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of, Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
